Four Ways the Current Supreme Court Nominee Could Impact People on Medicaid:
Finally, we can’t ignore the impact changes in the Supreme Court will have on healthcare for all, and more specifically on Medicaid, women’s reproductive healthcare, and the effort to achieve universal coverage.
The Alliance for Justice has outlined four impacts the current nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, could have. They state: “Republicans have been on a relentless war on health care, wielding legislation, executive action and litigation as weapons in their war on the protections that prevent insurance companies from charging women, people over age 50 and people with pre-existing conditions more for health care — and on Medicaid”

We strongly support the Affordable Care Act and appreciate what it has done to advance our healthcare system. But we know that to achieve health care for all we need more systemic change. We must shift the debate about health care forward, providing a platform for more open and honest dialogue.
If we all stay engaged, we can move our nation forward towards universal health care as a right.
